This webinar will explore a professional engineer’s ethical and contractual obligations, as well as the legal issues that may arise if one fails to act in accordance with those obligations. The presentation will focus on issues pertinent to the steel industry and will include case studies of where an engineer’s ethical or contractual duties took center stage in a legal dispute.

This in-depth webinar is sponsored by the Steel Joist Institute (SJI) and participation will earn you 2.0 PDHs. This webinar does not meet the Florida Ethics Continuing Education requirements. Check your state for final acceptance.

Who Should Attend This Webinar?

Structural engineers, fabricators, detailers and connection design firms who are responsible for steel joist and Joist Girder building designs and their connections. Individuals who are responsible for the design of Joist Girder moment frames that are subjected to gravity and lateral loading as well as those responsible for auditing, reviewing or approving such designs will benefit from this course. Those with very little design experience as well as those with many years of experience will find the course beneficial.

Professional Development Hours

Each participant will earn 2.0 PDHs and receive a certificate of completion from SJI.

NOTE: If you are licensed in North Carolina, please submit your license number to SJI at as this is required to issue your PDH certificate. If you are registering for a site registration, we will need the license number for any attendee that is licensed in North Carolina.

Registration Fees

Registration is $75 per person for individual and $300 for site registration.
