January 15 – Design of Steel Deck for Concentrated and Nonuniform Loading
$95.00 – $495.00
Description
Roof and floor decks with elevated slabs are typically designed for uniform loads. However, real-world conditions, such as accommodating collateral loads or equipment, often deviate from this idealized scenario. This presentation will help you assess existing systems or design new ones to handle nonuniform load considerations effectively.
This webinar is provided by the Steel Joist Institute in partnership with the Steel Deck Institute. Participants can earn 1.5 PDHs.
Learning Objectives
- Recognize load distribution and develop “simple” load diagrams.
- Understand deck limit states under concentrated loads.
- Review current and expanded SDI design approaches for concentrated loads.
Speakers
Josh Canova, P.E., Design Engineer, New Millennium
Ben Landis, Vice President, Epic Metals
Date/Time
Date: January 15, 2025
