New industrial building in Columbia City, IN for storing and loading long rail sections. Joist girders were utilized for monorail hoist system support. Joists used as wall girts.

The structure was efficient from a weight standpoint and easy to erect. The design could also be modified to accommodate changes requested by the owner.

This client desired a new structure to be erected over the existing structure that encompassed an overbuild area of 132,500 square feet. In particular, it had to be low maintenance and corrosion-resistant.

This manufacturing building consists of concrete tilt-up panel construction with approximately 67,200 square feet of roof area with various roof elevations. Open web steel joists were designed to span between panels up to 86 feet long.

The Spirit AeroSystems Center for Composite Excellence, located in Kinston, North Carolina, is a 585,000 square foot structural steel framed building with insulated metal panel envelope and is used to manufacture composite aero structure components for the Airbus A-350.
