The Steel Joist Institute presents “Considerations for Steel Joist Bearing Seat Connections”. The joist bearing seat is the interface between the steel joist system and the structural frame or other supports. This webinar will explore a host of topics related to joist bearing seats: what is the appropriate seat depth is, how to properly anchor the seat, how to transfer lateral loads, and consideration for seats used for special conditions. An overview of Steel Joist Institute connection design tools will also be provided.
