The delegated design engineer will generally use the most current material code unless there is a specific code referenced on the contract drawings. There may be differences in the material code referenced in the project specified building code and the current material code. In this case, there needs to be communication between the project’s Engineer of Record and the material supplier to ensure the correct codes are used.
