CREC Academy Aerospace and Engineering Elementary School

Located in Rocky Hill, CT, CREC Elementary School focuses on developing a strong foundation for students with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). This 89,693 square foot structure utilizes a circular footprint, providing a safe playground environment for all 704 students as well as scientific wonder. Not only does the unique structure protect the students from vehicular traffic, it is designed to radiate light from the center during solstice and equinox events. One advantage that the 210 joists and 859 squares of deck provided is it maximize ceiling heights by allowing MEP to pass through the joists vs. taking up valuable space underneath the joists.
