FMC Natatorium at Ty Warner Park

FMC Natatorium at Ty Warner Park in Westmont, IL is a 71,000 sq ft aquatic facility that houses a 50-meter Olympic size competition swimming pool with seating for up to 1,200 spectators and a 25-yard training pool for community swim programs. To accomplish this Vulcraft provided a roof system that utilized top chord double pitched, deep long-span steel joists that spanned the entire 160-foot distance from wall to wall with featured 38-foot ceilings and supersized deck that provided a sound reducing solution. Working with structural engineers during the design process the roof system’s profile, size and connections, Vulcraft was able to save the owners valuable time and money while providing a sound reducing solution.
