As the newest member of the Smokey Mountain community, Rocky Top Sports boasts that it is the best, biggest and most accommodating sporting venue in the region. Offering tournament planners, coaches, teams and spectators a one-of-a-kind sporting event, it includes 86,000 square feet of space with six hardwood basketball courts that easily transform into twelve volleyball courts. The Rock’s emphasis is on flexibility and its ability to multitask with multiple events happening simultaneously.
The project is an integral part of an 80 acre state-of-the-art sports campus in the heart of the Smoky Mountains. The main court area includes three bays of 64DLH joists spanning 110’ where the middle bay utilizes joists with double-pitched top chords and the outer bays have sloping joists. The DLH joists were designed to accommodate a variety of loadings including mechanical equipment, hydraulic goals and fully articulated divider curtains.
Rocky Top Sports World is designed to make every event an over the top mountain-top experience.
