The Washoe County School District built this elementary school in order to help meet the growing population demands in the greater Reno/Sparks, NV area. Built, not just for function, but also for form, the joist system was used to create the double-pitched roof, found in the gymnasium. This architecturally challenging building design provided a beautiful and cost-effective solution for helping to relieve the over-crowding demands on the local school system.
