This is the Painting Facility for the Nissan Leaf Electric Vehicle. The project consisted of girder, short-span and long-span joists with wide flange beam headers being bolted to joist vertical members.
The use of a steel joists and joist girders over a heavier, less flexible structural system was economical as well as structurally effective.

One of the most interesting facts of the project was the sheer size. Steel tonnage totals are as follows: Roof Joists = 1,227 tons; joist girders = 2,668 tons; wall joist = 1,045 tons; and joist bridging = 540 tons.
New construction of manufacturing and warehouse facility featuring 6,000 sf office mezzanine, solar thermal hot water, photovoltaic solar panels, roof top greenhouse, and daylight harvesting.
The Spirit AeroSystems Center for Composite Excellence, located in Kinston, North Carolina, is a 585,000 square foot structural steel framed building with insulated metal panel envelope and is used to manufacture composite aero structure components for the Airbus A-350.
