Replacing the high school’s old structure the Doc Harris Stadium is a new construction that utilized long-span open web joists to structural steel trussed towers. This project for the Camas School District utilized a stepped-down joist detail to create a thin profile along the roof perimeter.

The new stadium replaced the old structure that was built in 1958. With construction of the new facility a structural system was chosen that highlighted long-span open web joists. This structural system allowed for a decrease in steel costs and an increase in erection speed. Using these joists also created a thin profile which is aesthetically pleasing to viewers.
