The project included construction of two new additions. One is a 43,000sf two story academic wing with science labs, computer labs and classrooms. The second addition is a 27,300sf gymnasium with a two-story portion consisting of multi-purpose rooms, student activity areas, locker areas and storage.

The joist manufacturer was able to design the 16’-0” deep joist as a single joist in three pieces, with one layer of bridging as opposed to two separate joists with two layers of bridging. This approach saved additional erection time, had a more straightforward erection plan, and gave the joists a very distinct look – which was appropriate for the Science and Mathematics center.

Junior High School

Education

This new Junior High School consists of two full sized gymnasiums, performance art center with stage and tiered seating, classrooms, expanded library, four computer labs, conference rooms, faculty workrooms, office space for administration and full service kitchen.

The scope of this LEED-registered, $13 million progressive K-5 elementary school incorporates more than 65,000 square feet into a two-story, brick and cast stone exterior with a ribbed PVC roof membrane.
