St. Raphael Church

The St. Raphael Church project includes a single-story church addition with hip & valley roof construction with hip beams framing into joist girders. The connection of the hip beams to the joist girders was made with the inclusion of wide flange vertical web members in the joist girders. This project involved a tremendous amount of coordination between the joist manufacturer, Firelands Fabrication & Forest City Steel Erectors to ensure proper fit-up for a winter erection. Steel joist spans allowed for large open spaces required by church.
